Thank you for a great Member Symposium!
Last week, CALSTART hosted its members and other stakeholders in Seattle, Washington for a forward-looking discussion on safeguarding the progress made in the clean transportation industry, while also exploring opportunities for growth. Attendees heard from experts and industry leaders from CALSTART and other organizations like Greenlane, Prologis, Harbinger, JP Morgan, Foothill Transit, Terawatt, Rivian, Ford, and more! Additionally, attendees heard from keynote speaker Sarah Severn from Clean & Prosperous Washington about Washington’s medium- and heavy-duty vehicle landscape (key policies, recent progress, and the bold steps needed to accelerate change).
CALSTART’s next event is a Zero-Emission Showcase and Ride & Drive hosted alongside California Air Resources Board in Anaheim, California. Join us on Wednesday, June 18th from 9:00am-3:00pm at Angel Stadium to test drive a range of zero-emissions vehicles and explore funding and resources with key programs and agencies. Register Here!

Oakland International Airport (OAK) has introduced the first battery electric buses to its parking shuttle fleet: five electric BYD K7M buses. The vehicles will serve passenger and employee parking lots at the airport and are the first electric buses in service at OAK. The majority of the airport’s fleet runs on renewable natural gas (RNG) and will eventually transition to all-electric over the next decade. The vehicles and associated infrastructure have been partially funded by HVIP and EnergIIZE, two voucher incentive programs administered by CALSTART.
Harbinger Motors has launched a new, EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) version of their medium-duty box van with a 500-mile range. EREVs have both a battery and gas-powered engine to maximize reliability and range for fleets. The chassis can be outfitted with any cab or body type, offering an attractive solution for customers looking to embrace the benefits of electrification but aren’t yet ready for a full EV. Harbinger is taking orders now with deliveries expected next year.
